About Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) is a unitary authority area formed in 2019 on the south coast of England in Dorset. It combines the major coastal resort of Bournemouth, the historic harbour town of Poole (one of the world's largest natural harbours), and the ancient Saxon town of Christchurch at the confluence of the Avon and Stour. The area is known for its long sandy beaches, including the famous Bournemouth beach, the Poole Harbour islands, and the Bournemouth Gardens. With a population of approximately 400,000, it is a major tourist and economic hub. Landmarks include Poole's Old Town, Christchurch Priory, and the BIC.
