Central Bedfordshire is a unitary authority area in the East of England, created in 2009. It is a mix of expanding towns and rural villages, situated between Bedford and Luton. The area includes key towns such as Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade, and Ampthill. It features parts of the Chiltern Hills AONB in the south and the Greensand Ridge. Historically, it was part of the historic county of Bedfordshire. The population is approximately 293,000.
